But, I'd like to point out a mystery--why are my roots are so dark? (I'm the one in the pink jumper and white shirt with the dark roots) I swear I didn't start coloring my hair for at least another 7 years.
I suppose it was a harbinger of things to come. My roots start showing 5 minutes after I get my hair colored nowadays. Sigh, it's hard to be a (fake) blonde.
Thanks for the laughs, Andi!

Roots schmootz! You are the cutest one in your class. Besides, there's no shame in being peroxide dependent. Can't wait to see you!
Did Mom force you to wear tights? You really are the cutest in your class! But um maybe Mom really wanted you to stay blond too and was helping out and keeping it on the dl:) We know she wasn't above a little at home perming!
It's probably just the lighting! Now I just need to find the kindergarten picture from Hopi ... ahh ... tights ... those were the days!
I wonder how I survived 4th grade when ALL of my friends were in Mrs. Jenkins class. Seriously... all of my elementary school bffs are in that picture. I really don't think your roots were dark in person. That's SO funny though. And you really are the cutest one in the class! :)
That's awesome!! I love the picture!!
the good old days of elementary school.
Was it just me, or were some of the most distressing days of your life in elementary?
I had quite a lot of bully/mean girls to deal with. Thank heavens I met Leslie in 5th grade and we've stuck together ever since.
I also think that elementary school seemed like a really loooong time. Really, it was, because 1 year to an 8 yo is 1/8th of her life, but a much smaller percent to an adult.
Great post!
Heather is right; there's no shame in helping Mother Nature. But you weren't doing it then. However, you were choosing your own clothes. Looking back on it, I'm proud that I let you go in tights. How wonderfully non-controlling of me! Whatever is up with your hair and your legs, take it from your mother, you were and are darling!
